Sherman Stave is a principal in Singapore and Toronto and a landscape architect with over 30 years of experience, practicing extensively in Asia and North America. Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Canada, his global perspective shapes a design approach that balances sustainability, pragmatism, and artistic inspiration.
His award-winning work spans resorts, hotels, parks, private condominiums, universities, and mixed-use developments. He plays a key role in design and project management, ensuring seamless execution through meticulous attention to every stage. His designs reflect a deep sensitivity to site context, drawing inspiration from nature, art, and cultural landscapes to create meaningful, enduring spaces. He believes that landscape architecture should be both innovative and adaptable, fostering connections between people, places, and natural systems.
Sherman holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University. He is an Accredited Landscape Architect and a member of the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects. He also teaches and speaks at international workshops, symposiums, and conferences, contributing to the discourse on urban theory, design, and sustainability.
