Southshore Rock Piers

LANDinc is proud to share the final designs and renderings for the new public park at Ontario Place—a transformative project that reimagines the city’s waterfront as an inclusive, ecological, and culturally rich destination for generations to come. In partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Infrastructure Ontario, LANDinc was selected in 2022 to lead the design of the public realm at Ontario Place. Our team brought a wealth of experience, including our work on Trillium Park and the William G. Davis Trail, to envision a space that is at once restorative, inspiring, and responsive to the community and the land.

A Park for People and the Planet

The park is envisioned as the green heart of Ontario Place—a space for reflection, play, connection, and cultural expression. Designed to be fully accessible and inclusive, the park will support a diverse range of activities, inviting people of all ages and abilities to relax, explore, and gather by the lake. Our multidisciplinary team wove together ecological design, public art, and placemaking principles to create a landscape that is deeply rooted in place and purpose.

A Vision Rooted in Collaboration and Sustainability

The design of Ontario Place’s new public park is the result of an extensive and collaborative process that included:

  • A full environmental assessment

  • Robust community engagement

  • Meaningful collaboration with rights-bearing First Nations and urban Indigenous organizations

At the heart of the design are forward-looking environmental strategies: new shoreline protection, flood mitigation, soil remediation and capping, and climate-resilient park enhancements. These efforts will help rehabilitate the site while creating a vibrant, safe, and sustainable place for all.
