AMARAVATI CENTRAL PARK
The evolution of the landscape design for Amaravati Masterplan is based on environmentally sustainable principles that successfully balances the needs and uses of an urban park, with that of a natural landscape composed of wetlands and native forests.
The pedestrian circulation, amenities and facilities are purposefully elevated above the landscape floor. This vertical layering of landscape maintains the natural systems and integrity of the natural landscape without compromising the usability of the amenities and facilities. The dynamic juxtaposition of these two systems creates a vibrant environment in the heart of the city.
The landscape expression is informed by the cultural, social, economic and agrarian heritage that is particular to this state and site specifically.
The overall appearance and function of the park will forge a distinct civic identity that is rooted in environmental sustainability, creating a “sense of place” that is timeless.
