Description:
LANDinc led a team of sub-consultants in developing a master plan for the rejuvenation of the existing 16-acre
Stone Street Park. Located along the shores of Lake Ontario, the park is an important community resource as well as a significant environmental resource. LANDinc employed a comprehensive
program of public consultation to ensure that the development of the park master
plan was as inclusive as possible. Key features of the plan include a partial street closure, the realignment
of the existing waterfront trail, new pedestrian connections and pathways, expansion
of the Pumphouse Marsh to its original size, a new interpretive pedestrian boardwalk
across the Pumphouse Marsh expansion, restoration of the ecologically sensitive
barrier beach, a new playground and signage, naturalization of surface drainage inlets,
and removal of existing ball diamonds. |
